AFWA MEMBER BURSARIES
The Alberta Farm Writers’ Association (AFWA) is proud to support professional development and international networking opportunities for our members through two annual bursaries. Each bursary provides up to $1,500 to help cover registration, travel, and accommodation costs for members attending national and international agricultural journalism conferences.

The AFWA–IFAJ International Bursary supports AFWA members in attending the annual congress of the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ). This bursary provides an opportunity for members to connect with agricultural journalists worldwide, gain new insights, and share best practices from other countries.​​

The AFWA–CFWF Conference Bursary helps members attend the Canadian Farm Writers’ Federation (CFWF) Conference, offering valuable networking, professional development, and opportunities to learn from colleagues across Canada.​​​​​​​​

How Bursaries Work

Eligibility: Open to AFWA members in good standing.

Award Amount: Up to $1,500 per bursary.

Application Review: Applications are evaluated by a committee of AFWA board members.

Recognition: Recipients are celebrated at the AFWA Spring Tour and invited to share their experiences through webinars, social media, and e-newsletter articles.
